Employee of the Month
As mentioned earlier this month, I've decided to give up my dreams to join the paparazzi because celebrity worship is a ridiculous waste of psychic and creative energy. I'd rather focus on getting my MBA and writing fiction.
As it turns out, I'd be a really bad celebrity photographer anyway because I don't even recognize famous people when I run into them on the sidewalk.
"Nice puppy," I said to the pretty girl who was holding her dog.
"Thanks," she said.
Later, someone told me it was Jessica Simpson I had casually greeted. Couldn't be, I thought, This woman was just a normal person and celebrities are bigger than life.
But since Ms. Simpson is actually in Santa Fe shooting Employee of the Month at Garson Studios, I guess I thought wrong.
Seriously, I've been a celebrity liaison in the past (don't ask), and it can be grueling work: they often demand to be treated like regular people, believe it or not.
